First Open Calls Info Session – 11.03.202
On 11 March 2021 VOJEXT held its first information session dedicated to the recently launched open call for innovative projects in the field of cognitive robotics. The event was attended by 40 representatives of SMEs, research institutes and DIHs from across Europe.
The webinar started with a brief presentation of VOJEXT which provided an overview of the main aims, activities and expected results of the project. This was followed by a detailed explanation of each of the 5 technological challenges that have to be addressed within the scope of the open call. The next presentation provided comprehensive information about the open call, including eligibility criteria, available funding, application procedure and required set of documents that applicants have to complete. The webinar concluded with Q&A session.

About Open Call # 1 – Challenges
Open Call # 1 is looking for innovators (SMEs and Mid-Caps) in cognitive autonomous systems for human-robot interaction, specially “cobots” covering traditional and non-traditional areas for AI- robotics and cognitive ICT developments.
Projects must clearly fit within one of the following 5 challenges:
- Construction robotic toolset;
- Visualization of point cloud in a VR headset;
- Integrate two leap motion devices to improve user’s hand mapping;
- Investigate a new method of hand mapping and integrate it to the teleop pipeline.
The maximum amount of funding that each beneficiary may receive during Open Call #1 is up to €100 K and the number of grants is 5. The selected beneficiaries will receive international mentoring for the implementation of their projects. The duration of the projects is 9-12 months.
The deadline for submitting applications is 30 April 2021 (5 PM CET). The implementation of the selected projects will start in July 2021 and be divided in Sprints of 3-4 months.
